For my web 2.0 tool I reviewed Mystudiyo.com. This user-friendly site creates quizzes that educators can administer in the classroom. This tool can be used in a reading language arts classroom to make reading assessments. Educators can create questions to go along with the reading to measure students’ comprehension and overall knowledge about a topic.

This site provided an easy way to create quizzes. When visiting Mystudiyo.com you need to create a username and password to login. The site offers a trial period before asking the customer to pay for its use. The step-by-step process starts when you click on “create a quiz.” This takes you to a new page that gives you the option to create a quiz with “multiple choice” or “how X are you.” Once you decided on the format of the quiz you are able to choose a design. The site offers several designs with different colors and fonts. After choosing your design you are asked to name your quiz and have the option to upload an image, video, or text emended at the beginning. Next you can start adding questions. The site allows you to create as many questions as you want, which you can edit at anytime. Finally you select an ending to your quiz that will allow you to view their score or score range. Once finished with the making of the quiz the site gives you the option to send or embed the quiz elsewhere.

As a future teacher, I would use this tool after an informational reading. For my activity I chose to create a quiz on the 4 traditional seasons in a year. First I would have students read a book about seasons. One informational book I found that would work great with this activity was “Why Do Seasons Change?” By Jane Donnelly. After a short discussion I would have students take the “Seasons Quiz” I have created. I have formed questions that get students thinking about the reading and reflect on what they have learned. After each student completes the quiz I would be able to easily recognize where students are struggling or have been successful.

Overall this tool is great to not only identify areas of improvement but also measure students’ comprehension. Students in today’s society are more familiar with technology and thrive off the opportunity to use the computer. This tool quizzes students in a more fun and engaging way than your typical paper test. Thus, I would most definitely use this tool in a reading language arts classroom.
